Snow Joe + Sun Joe Brand

Snow Joe + Sun Joe specializes in outdoor tools for all season from lawn mowers, trimmers, to snow shovels and snow blowers. Seventeen-year-old Joseph Cohen was selling snow shovels online when he realized he could create a better snow shovel. He used his savings and together with his dad and brother-in-law as investors, founded Snow Joe in 2004. Their first product was a Snow Joe electric snow shovel.

The Sun Joe brand that focused on eco-friendly lawn and garden tools were launched in 2009. Other brands of the company are Aquajoe for cutting-edge irrigation products and watering accessories; Firman portable generators and accessories; and Nisaku professional grade home and garden tools hand-forged by Japan’s master blade craftsmen.

By 2010 the company had launched over 20 products and were selling products to Canada. A year later their product range had doubled. During the same year they launched their social media campaigns on Facebook and Twitter.

In 2012 they expanded their international market by selling products to Japan and the Caribbean. Today the company offers over 140 items and continues to add new items to its product line. In 2013 they changed the snow blower industry with the iON series, a lithium-ion battery-operated snow blower.

In 2017 they were awarded the New Product Innovation Award and a QVC “Rising Star award in 2016 as one of the fastest-growing lawn and garden brands. They focus on creating eco-friendly products.

In 2015 the company relocated to a 100,000 sq.ft facility in Carlstadt, New Jersey and they launched their online e-commerce platform. The products are designed in Carlstadt but manufactured in the USA, Canada, China, Japan, or Taiwan. The country of origin is listed in each product specification. In 2018 the company leased another 271,000 sq.ft. distribution-center in Mahwah, NJ.

Snow Joe + Sun Joe announced on September 6, 2019, that they were teaming up with FIRMAN Power Equipment donating portable power generators to help those affected by hurricane Dorian.

The company focuses on producing electric and battery-operated tools that are eco-friendly. Products like the electric wood chipper and leaf shredder make it easier for consumers to recycle and reuse.
