Ariens Brand Products and Information
The Ariens brand came to life in Henry Ariens garage. It was during the Great Depression in 1933 when he called his sons to see the rototiller he had developed. The year before, he had to file bankruptcy for Brillion Iron Works.
The father and his three sons started the company that exploded into employing over 1,500 people across the United States, United Kingdom, and Norway. They design and manufacture the equipment and tools in-house in Brillion, Wisconsin. Ariens proudly claims to be a family-owned business with the same zip code for almost 90 years. Great–grandson, Dan Ariens is the current CEO of the company.
The brand offers lawn and garden, and snow removal equipment. In 1958 Ariens entered the market with its first riding lawn mower. A year later they introduced the two-stage Sno-Thro blower. The Sno-Thro became a global bestseller, making them the King of the Snow. They introduced the first electric two-stage snow blower in 2010. In 2012 Ariens passed the 3 million mark of manufacturing Sno-Thro machines.
In 1963 they opened their new 23,000 square feet manufacturing plant, and in 1977 they built a new metal fabrication plant. Ariens completed its 45,000 square feet Design and Development Center in 2017.
In 1982 Ariens branched out into the commercial market and acquired Gravely Company. Gravely’s story began over 100 years ago when Benjamin Franklin Gravely received the first patent for his motor plow. Countax is another Arien brand with more than 30 decades of tractor manufacturing success in Britain. Countax also manufactures Westwood garden tractors. RapidCare is a standalone division of Arien that focuses on customer service and dealer support.
The company’s 70th anniversary was celebrated by opening the Arien Museum and introducing a full line of hydrostatic-drive zero-turn lawn mowers and riders. The original factory house the museum including a full-scale replica of Henry Ariens’ garage. It’s interactive displays, and vintage equipment tells the story of Ariens machines.
The company logo evolved along with the company and products. The 13th logo was created in 2016.
Arien annually invests in STEM education programs and have built STEM centers at Brillion Elementary and High School.
