My buddy Dan wanted a 3D printer, so we struck a deal where he would buy all the parts for MY second machine and I would "hand me down" my machine to him. I wanted a little bit bigger machine and this gave me the opportunity to work that out.
Basically I added 3 inches all the way around and I really like not feeling cramped! It's also got a nice side effect that I can fit the power supply underneath the printer without any problems! :)
It's also a lot faster than the old machine - I don't know if it's the precision aluminum timing pulleys I made, the precision aluminum z axis couplers I made, the lm8uu bearings, or probably a combination of all of it, but it's really smokin fast!
